The school project on application of resources and energy unites schools from 5 federal districts of Russia and is open to everyone. For more than 20 years of work, more than 800 schools have applied practical knowledge about energy and resource conservation in their buildings, in the lives of students and their families. On November 17, the coordinator of SPARE, Elena Gretchina, spoke about this at the city training webinar "Interaction of educational organizations and social partners in the implementation of environmental projects."

On November 2, was held a webinar for SPARE teachers on the topic of waste and climate change connection and the inclusion of this topic in school environmental projects. Environmental Movement 42 (Arkhangelsk) shared its experience of work with different stakeholders to reduce waste. SPARE commitie presented a manual for conducting ecological classes "Waste, Resources and Climate".

Summer and themed school camps are the best time and place to meet and take the first steps of becoming new students in the SPARE Program.

Therefore, on July 15 – August 15, lessons, excursions, workshops and festivals were held in eight (8) school camps in the Moscow, Yaroslavl, Bryansk and Voronezh regions, which for the first time introduced more than 200 children and teenagers to the issues of energy efficiency, climate and energy, separate garbage and its processing. The students learned about the events of the entire school year of SPARE, got acquainted with the books and posters of the Program, carefully studied the exhibition "Energy-efficient Building". The students themselves called this "immersion" in the SPARE program: "School under the sun". The first Model platform for teachers and children was summer camps in the villages of Yuryevskoye and Menchakovo in the Yaroslavl region under the leadership of Sergey Yuryevich and Irina Valerievna Skiba.

In June 2021, members of the SPARE in the Central Federal District compiled a collection of materials "Energy efficiency and heating of buildings of various types of the P. A. Sokolov Estate". The brochure offers recommendations for energy-efficient heating and lighting of a goose house, a wooden house, a stone manor house, and an old park. More than 50 pages of the brochure includes several projects of the SPARE of schoolchildren in this region. The materials were used during the summer volunteer school camps of more than 350 schoolchildren in the summer of 2021.

Six schools, two libraries and two village Clubs of the Pervomaisky district of the Yaroslavl region prepared, initiated and held a month in June: "This is not garbage under your feet, but valuable resources!". More than 60 families took part in the collection and conversion of garbage into recyclable materials.

On June 11-25, 2021, 15 schoolchildren and three teachers of the Vladimir Waldorf School held a 2-week eco-educational auto tour in six regions of Russia in order to expand the map of participants of the SPARE program. Vladimir schoolchildren tried to show local residents that ecotourism in Russia can take place under the motto: "Life and travel without waste and plastic".

In June, more than 500 schoolchildren from the Moscow and Central regions of Russia participated in environmental interactive climate programs based on the materials of SPARE in summer camps.

On June 15, 2021, students attending the summer recreation camps of 11 schools in the Tver, Bryansk, Kaluga, and Yaroslavl regions engaged in bright, creative, educational activities offered by the SPARE program to celebrate World Wind Day. More than 250 schoolchildren aged 9 to 14 years learned new facts about wind energy and participated in business games. They also calculated the strength and direction of the wind in their regions, became acquainted with "wind roses,” and learned about uses of wind that are possible at the household level.

A Moscow schoolgirl calculated the cost savings of replacing incandescent lamps with energy-saving and LED lamps for lighting the garden association "Mayak-1" of the Pushkinsky district of the Moscow region. Statistical data for the years 2005–2019 were used in the research. The work was carried out in close cooperation with the administration of the dacha village. Calculations showed a 4.2-fold reduction in electricity costs in the dacha village, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere by 2531.6 m3. In the spring of 2021, the research materials were transferred to the board of the "Mayak-1" of the Moscow region.
