The project by Darya Kozlovskaya "Newspaper “Raindrops" was recognized as the best in the class. She sent it to the regional competition and then to the all-Russian one. This project of the 9-year-old girl about   a real daily saving of resources and energy in a large family became the winner of the Russian competition SPARE - 2019. She took the first place in the nomination "Informing of Society"!

On April 27, the day of safe energy for climate protection was held at Ecocentrum in St. Petersburg. This day was timed to coincide with the 32nd anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster that happened on April 26, 1986, and was intended to show safe energy and climate solutions, alternatives to nuclear energy and fossil fuels.

On March 23-24 Arkhangelsk hosted an international civil forum "2b sustainable. Climate and energy. " The forum became the first platform in Arkhangelsk for climate-related discussions, with the main focus on the possibilities of developing renewable energy sources to address climate change issues in the region. The expert of the Russian Socio-Ecological Union presented the topic of climate actions in and by the regions and discussed the need to create climate plans for Arkhangelsk, the region, small settlements, as well as for schools, industrial enterprises and various public institutions.
 

On January 12, RSEU Climate Secretariat held a webinar for all those interested in climate action in Russia's regions. It focused on why climate plans are needed, what tasks they are able to solve, and how NGOs can help in the preparation and implementation of such plans.

SPARE activists in the Central District of Russia, members of the RSEU, collected a collection of the best films created by our students-participants of SPARE competitions in 2010 - 2017. The announcement of the auto-film tour was sent to small settlements in Bryansk, Moscow, Kaluga, Yaroslavl, Oryol regions by e-mail in the end of August. Ecological settlements, local schools and kindergartens, clubs, libraries and simply farm families invited us to talk about the SPARE program with the help of short video films. In September 2017, we held a three-week film tour in those settlements that haven’t become members of the SPARE program yet.

In March 2016 members of Bryansk NGO "Viola" prepared and carried out announcement of the All-Russian days of actions for climate protection within the international SPARE project. New Program " Climate Ambassadors" was presented to ecologists, members of non-governmental organizations, teachers, students within three days. Actions took place on the basis of educational institutions. Participants got advice on holding actions. Winners of SPARE competitions told about their experience. The new Program arouse a great interest.

More than 6 regions , 12 districts and cities, several universities and colleges, 35 schools, 600 kindergartens, schoolchildren and students took part in the All-Russian days of actions of "Climate Ambassadors" in Central Federal District of Russia.

Moscow teachers got acquainted with the new program "Climate Ambassadors" at a meeting of the Association of Environmental Educators of Moscow. Schools have received information materials in the thematic mailing lists. Members of SPARE school projects made up the volunteers available and scientists were invited to the "climate messengers"program to become partners in the Program coordinated by The Phenological of Russian Geographical Society.

In the present year, carbon intensity of the internal regional product (IRP) should turn into one of the indexes of regional authority’s efficiency. Representatives of public environmental organizations welcome implementation of the data reporting on greenhouse gas emissions; however, they believe that the effectiveness would go higher if regions acquire financial incentives for realization of their plans besides the only moral support.
